VISION

Our vision is to have a positive educational impact on the lives of young people at the primary and secondary level, who are connected to EGA church community.

LAUNCH

On Sunday, May 4, 2008 the EGA H.O.P.E. Fund will be launched during the 10:30 a.m. service.  The launch will take the form of a brief introduction by Pastor Llewellyn followed by an outline of the general purpose, administration and funding which defines the implementation and future management of the fund.

There will also be an acknowledgement of the pioneering vision of the late Pastor Albert Karram and his sterling contribution to the building of churches and schools across Jamaica linked to the outstretched hand of Christ in St. Matthew 19:14 but Jesus said “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven”

WHO WILL OVERSEE THE FUND

A committee drawn from the EGA church family will oversee the Fund. They will also provide support to the children and families who receive assistance. The committee will report to the EGA Church Board.

HOW WILL FUNDS BE DISBURSED?

The committee will propose specific criteria which will have to be ratified by the EGA church Board. These criteria will define the following, namely:

  • Who and how many will be eligible to receive scholarships?
  • How much will be disbursed to each individual?
  • Under what circumstance are scholarships disbursed?

WILL OFFICIAL RECORDS BE KEPT?

Yes, official records will be kept of all Funds submitted and disbursed.  These records will be made available to the contributors of the Fund at their request and on a quarterly basis.

WHAT TYPE OF SUPPORT WILL BE GIVEN BY THE COMMITTEE?

The committee will ensure that the recipients are monitored for their school attendance, academic performance, conversion experience and interaction in the home. The committee will also offer counseling, teen advice and parental support.

HOW WILL THE PROGRAM BE FUNDED?

The program will primarily be funded by associates, members and former members of EGA, whether local or overseas who have volunteered pledges on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis.  Contributions can be made by cheques or routed directly to the local Bank account at the National Commercial Bank.  A confirmation letter &/or receipt will be sent to the contributors by the office secretary, within thirty (30) days of a contribution being received.
